Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Delta

Family General Living

In Flanders Fields, the poppies grow… And so the memorable story goes. Remembrance Day is a time for respect. It is a time to remember those who fought and died in the line of duty. Canada was not always such a free and peaceful country; but now, we get to live in harmony with one another. This Remembrance Day, there are a number of ceremonies that you can attend throughout Delta.

Remembrance Day in North Delta

If the South of Delta is better suited to you, then be sure to check out South Delta’s ceremony at Memorial Park. Beginning at 10:15 AM, the parade will start at the Legion and finish at the Cenotaph at Memorial Park. This ceremony is hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Delta Branch 61. Veterans and adults are also invited to the Legion after the ceremony. The Legion is a community service organization which seeks to serve veterans and promote Remembrance. Founded by veterans and for veterans, this is a great place to stop by this Remembrance Day to authentically support those who have sacrificed for our country.

Finally, there will also be a Remembrance Day ceremony taking place in Tsawwassen at Century Square. Beginning at 1:30 PM, this ceremony brings with it a special appearance from the Delta Police Pipe Band. And in addition to some great musical tunes, light refreshments are also being served after the ceremony.

Above all, paying respect to those who gave us our freedom is of immense value. We hope that this list of activities inspires you to get out there!
